Increasing wholegrain intake in the Swedish population

The Swedish Food Federation is involved in a research project that will develop a public-private partnership with the objective of increasing wholegrain intake in the Swedish population. This could be achieved by e.g. developing new wholegrain products, improving the availability of wholegrain products and increase communication and knowledge on the health effects of wholegrain. The project is jointly funded by the Swedish government and project members.

The project started late 2018 and includes at start representatives from industry, academy, consumer organisations, patient organisations and municipalities. The aim is to involve as many actors as possible that can contribute to an increase in wholegrain intake and there will be opportunities for other actors, e.g. retailers, to join the project as it proceeds.
